"Star Trek: Terra Nova" is fan-produced, online, fiction series set in the year 2378 -- nearly three years after the end of the Dominion War. The setting is a Defiant-class starship, with a crew of 40, exploring the far reaches of space. Our story and episodes exist within the "Prime" Star Trek universe as depicted in the five television series' and ten movies (before the J.J. Abrams reboot). Our overall timeline, however, places us in a slightly alternate "Prime" reality.

The USS Terra Nova is one of many Defiant-class starships converted to other uses after the end of the war. Her current long-term assignment is to a distant area of unexplored space -- a mysterious region known as the Ryalli Sector. Her primary base of operations is Liberty Station -- the crashed saucer section of a Galaxy-class starship.

She's a little ship, cut off from Federation space. Her supplies are limited. Her quarters are cramped....
